The Baltimore Ravens have lost quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson to the Oakland Raiders, who hired him as their offensive coordinator.
Jackson is the man behind the scenes that hasn’t gotten any credit for the progression of quarterback Joe Flacco.
Man in the NFL feel that Jackson is going to be an outstanding coordinator but question why he wouldn’t wait for an offer from a better team.
There is no doubt that Jackson is taking a big risk going to coach out in Oakland, which is where many careers have ended.
The Ravens will now have to look to fill the void left by Jackson, and Jim Zorn and Al Saunders are two names that have been rumored as possible replacements.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason and safety Ed Reed have both made it clear they are pondering retirement.
Mason announced he was retiring last offseason only to change his mind and show up halfway through training camp.
Reed has also thought about retirement in the past because of an impinged nerve in his neck.
The safety would like to continue to play, but a few different injuries are causing him to think twice about it.
The loss of either or both players would be a huge hit to the Ravens considering the current salary cap situation.

The Baltimore Ravens couldn’t come up with another perfect performance in a 20-3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Ravens came got off to a fast start, marching down the field and kicking a field goal on their initial drive.
However, it would be the team’s only score of the game, and really the only time they threatened to do so.
The defense turned in an excellent effort against a very good offense, but they weren’t going to shut the Colts completely down.
The loss is disappointing for Baltimore, which has now lost its past eight games against Indianapolis.

The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts are set for what is sure to be a terrific playoff game.
The two teams met earlier this year in Baltimore, and a late interception cost the Ravens a chance for the win.
The Ravens are playing much better now than they were then, while the Colts are coming off of a long layoff.
Indianapolis has homefield advantage and somehow has the Ravens number over the years, especially when it comes to slowing down the running game.
The Ravens played like a team possessed last week, but can they pull it off two straight weeks? Colts 23, Ravens 20

The Baltimore Ravens came out fast and never looked back in a 33-14 victory over the New England Patriots.
The Ravens began the game with an 83-yard touchdown run from running back Ray Rice and dominated both sides of the ball.
They forced quarterback Tom Brady into three interceptions and a turnover in a dominant defensive performance.
The running game produced two touchdowns and more than 150 yards from Ray Rice and scores from Willis McGahee and Le’Ron McClain.
The Ravens now advance to the second round of the playoffs where they will face the Indianapolis Colts.

The Baltimore Ravens will travel to New England to take on the Patriots in a first round playoff game.
Both teams have had their fare share of ups and downs this season and have also dealt with injuries.
New England should have an advantage throwing the ball on a depleted Baltimore secondary, but the injury to Wes Welker certainly hurts.
The Ravens will try to keep quarterback Tom Brady on the sidelines by pounding the ball with their running game.
The two contrasting styles should make for an interesting game, and I’d expect a close one that could go either way. Ravens 24, Patriots 23

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron has done a nice job with the team’s offense and young quarterback.
That has led to speculation that Cameron could be on the move again soon, landing another head coaching job.
The coordinator said that he is in no hurry to become a head coach again and loves what he does.
He said that calling plays is the next best thing to being a quarterback, and that being a head coach is a totally different challenge.
It sounds as if Cameron is really enjoying his time working with Joe Flacco in Baltimore and will probably be there for at least a couple of more seasons.

The Baltimore Ravens used a big day from an unlikely hero to gain a 21-13 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Backup running back Willis McGahee had 167 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead the Ravens.
With quarterback Joe Flacco and his wide receivers struggling to get the passing game going, the Ravens leaned on the run.
That mean more carries for McGahee in relief of Ray Rice, and he made the most of them and then some.
The win clinches a playoff berth for the Ravens, who will now travel to New England to take on the Patriots in the first round.

All the Baltimore Ravens have to do is beat the Oakland Raiders Sunday and they will be in the playoffs.
With a win, the Ravens would grab one of the two wild card spots.
If the Jets beat the Bengals, a Ravens victory would give them the No. 6 seed. If the Jets lose to the Bengals, the Ravens would get the No. 5 seed.
If the Bengals beat the Jets and the Patriots beat the Texans, the Ravens would play the Bengals in the first round.
If the Bengals lose and the Patriots win, then the Ravens would travel to New England for their first round game. If the opposite happens, then Baltimore would still play the Patriots.

The Baltimore Ravens had enough dumb penalties and stupid mistakes to last them an entire season in a very disappointing 23-20 loss to the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Ravens came out with one of their best defensive performances of the season, but more than 100 penalty yards and three turnovers completely wasted the strong effort.
The defense gave up just barely over 250 yards passing and a touchdown to Ben Roethlisberger while also completely shutting down the Pittsburgh running attack.
Baltimore had two touchdowns called back because of penalties and also had a sure score dropped in the end zone by normally sure-handed wide receiver Derrick Mason.
It’s not all bad for the Ravens, though. With a win next Sunday at Oakland, they will clinch a wild card spot in the playoffs. They control their own destiny, so a win and they are in!
