The Baltimore Ravens still could have a problem at place kicker and are prepared to find a solution.
The team has retained veteran Billy Cundiff and seems pretty set on bringing him to training camp.
However, the Ravens have made it known that they plan on bringing in competition for the second straight year.
Three big free agents could be on the move very soon in Jay Feeley, Shayne Graham and Neil Rackers.
The Ravens have the most interest in Rackers and Graham, and they have already spoken to the latter.

The Baltimore Ravens have signed defensive tackle Cory Redding to a two-year contract worth $6 million.
Redding comes over from the Seattle Seahawks and has also spent time with the Detroit Lions.
He has spent time as a defensive end as on the interior part of the line during his career.
He has never been a major pass rusher, but he does have the ability to get to the quarterback from time to time.
The Ravens believe he plays the way others do on their defense and that he will fit in very well with their schemes.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is working hard and ready for a big year in 2010.
Suggs has been at the practice facility for a couple of months working hard to be in better shape next season.
He faced a lot of criticism last year by reporting to training camp out of shape and producing low sack totals.
The team wasn’t shy about criticizing the player they had just rewarded with a big contract to be a major disruption on the defensive side of the ball.
The linebacker said he is working hard to lose weight and is really happy to be healthy and motivated again.

The Baltimore Ravens were hoping to retain defensive end Dwan Edwards, but he has signed a four-year contract worth up to $18 million with the Buffalo Bills.
The Ravens had hoped to retain Edwards but knew that he was likely to get some attention on the free agent market after a breakout 2009 season.
Baltimore was trying to save as much money as possible with Edwards, so they wanted him to test the free agent market and hope he didn’t get much interest.
Edwards left Denver and Buffalo after free agent visits without a contract, which led the Ravens to believe they had much better chances of retaining Edwards.
However, the defensive end was excited about the opportunity to play every down with the Bills, and the money obviously didn’t hurt either. The Ravens simply weren’t willing to match a contract of that magnitude.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Troy Smith, or at least his agent, has made it very clear he wants to be traded to the Cleveland Browns.
Smith, who is from Ohio, wants to return to the state and finally get his shot at being a starting quarterback in the NFL.
There’s only one problem for Smith: it doesn’t look like the Browns want him.
The Browns are in desperate need of a quarterback or two, yet they haven’t seemed the least bit interested in acquiring Smith.
They have released a quarterback, traded another one away and brought in two quarterbacks, none of which are the former Buckeye.
Maybe Smith should focus on getting better and helping the Ravens reach the Super Bowl instead of demanding a trade that no one wants to make.

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed wide receiver Derrick Mason to a two-year contract worth $8 million.
Mason went out to test the free agent market because he was unhappy with Baltimore’s lack of interest.
What he found was a lack of interest in his services, so he quickly turned back to the Ravens for a deal.
The re-signing of Mason means that the Ravens will have significantly upgraded their wideouts in 2010.
Mason finished last season with over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. That’s not too shabby for their new No. 2 wide receiver.

It’s been assumed all offseason that veteran wide receiver Derrick Mason would eventually return and re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
Now, that seems a little more uncertain.
With the Ravens trading for star wide receiver Anquan Boldin, the team appears less likely to throw a bunch of money at the wideout.
The team instead plans on waiting things out and allowing Mason to test the open market, figuring that other clubs won’t want to invest much in a 36-year old wide receiver.
It’s also been said that the Ravens might be growing a little tired of Mason’s constant threats to retire and are looking to send him a message.
The Ravens seem comfortable going forward with their current group of wideouts and potentially selecting one in next month’s NFL Draft.

The Baltimore Ravens have finally bolstered their wide receiver corps by trading a third and fourth round pick for Arizona Cardinals star Anquan Boldin.
In the deal, the Ravens also received a fifth-round pick from the Cardinals. The team signed Boldin to a four-year contract worth $28 million.
Boldin said that he was excited all day when he received word that the two teams were in serious talks and wished that all of this had happened last year.
He immediately gives the Ravens a major upgrade at the wide receiver position and some insurance in case the team is unable to re-sign veteran Derrick Mason.
With the Boldin trade and signing, the Ravens have officially dropped their pursuit of free agent Kevin Walter and a possible deal with the Denver Broncos for Brandon Marshall.

The Baltimore Ravens have handed out tender offers in an effort to keep several players with the team.
Offensive lineman Jared Gaither, fullback Le’Ron McClain and cornerback Fabian Washington received a first-round tender.
Wide receiver Mark Clayton, safety Dawan Landry, punter Sam Koch and guard Marshal Yanda all received second-round tenders.
The team also gave out tenders to quarterback Troy Smith and wide receiver Demetrius Williams, among others.
Baltimore wants to upgrade its wideouts, but is being cautious not to find themselves in a situation where they lose their guys and no one else is available to sign.

The Baltimore Ravens do have an interest in free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens, at least if you ask head coach John Harbaugh.
Harbaugh has been very complimentary of Owens in the past, and he continues to praise the veteran wide receiver.
The coach believes Owens is both a very good person and player and that he rarely has a problem getting along with others.
Harbaugh made it clear that the Ravens are all about finding ways to make their football team better and that Owens would fit into such plans.
The Ravens have tried to trade for Owens before, but he refused to go to Baltimore and pushed his way into Philadelphia. You saw how that ended.
