Ravens can’t hold off Patriots, 23-20

The Baltimore Ravens went conservative in the fourth quarter and it cost them in a 23-20 overtime loss to the New England Patriots.

The Ravens held 17-7 and 20-10 leads in the third quarter but played not to lose instead of for the win.

After having a lot of success throwing the ball down the field, the Ravens went back to the running game and short dump-offs to Ray Rice.

Defensively, Baltimore only rushed three guys, giving quarterback Tom Brady all the time in the world to throw the ball. ( Read More…)

Ravens thump Broncos, 31-17

The Baltimore Ravens took a commanding 17-point lead en route to a 31-17 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Running back Ray Rice finally broke out after a quiet start to the season to the tune of 133 yards and two touchdowns.

Backup running back Willis McGahee scored on a 30-yard run, and even quarterback Joe Flacco ran a sneak for a touchdown.

The Baltimore defense pressured quarterback Kyle Orton and kept the Broncos offense from hitting big plays down the field. ( Read More…)

Ravens rally past Steelers, 17-14

The visiting Baltimore Ravens used a defensive stand and late touchdown to top the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, 17-14.

The Ravens controlled most of the game but gave up two long touchdown drives that put them down four points late in the fourth quarter.

After turning the ball over on downs with just under three minutes to play and only one timeout at the Pittsburgh one-yard line, the Ravens forced a three-and-out.

The Ravens got the ball back inside Pittsburgh territory with a minute to play and quickly drove down the field, with Joe Flacco tossing the game-winning touchdown pass to T.J. Houshmandzadeh. ( Read More…)
