Ravens fire offensive line coach

The Baltimore Ravens have fired offensive line coach John Matsko after a very disappointing season.

Matsko oversaw a line that allowed 40 sacks in the regular season and nine more over two playoff games.

The team also dropped to No. 14 among the league’s running attacks despite having more carries in 2010.

The Ravens have promoted assistant offensive line coach Andy Moeller to take over for Matsko. ( Read More…)

Ravens stunned by Steelers, 31-24

The Baltimore Ravens blew a two-touchdown lead in the second half in a brutal, 31-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens turned the ball over on three straight possessions in the second half, allowing the Steelers to take a three-point lead.

After tying the game, Baltimore’s defense gave up a 58-yard pass on third-and-19 that set up the game-winning touchdown for the Steelers.

The Ravens still had a chance to come back and tie the game, but wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh dropped a pass that would have given the team a first down in Pittsburgh territory. ( Read More…)

Reed’s brother missing

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is dealing with a possible tragedy involving one of his younger brothers.

Reed’s younger brother was running from the police when he jumped into the Mississippi River. He has not been seen since that time.

Police said he initially went under the water but then popped back up. They said they then saw him disappear under the water and he did not resurface.

There was initially a search conducted to try and locate his brother, but it was eventually called off. ( Read More…)

Ravens hold off Bengals, 13-7

The Baltimore Ravens turned in a sloppy performance but held on for a 13-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Ravens held a 6-0 lead at halftime and didn’t come out of the locker room looking very inspired.

They did managed to finally get into the end zone courtesy of a touchdown scamper from running back Ray Rice.

However, the Bengals dominated the Ravens at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and almost came back to get the win. ( Read More…)
